Conference Name Successes and Lessons Learned from State Farmer Mental Health Program

Seth Wilner

Summary

Join us to learn about NH's USDA-NIFA funded State Department of Agriculture Farmer, Rancher, Stress Assistance Network Program.

We have evaluated our multi-year program and used this information to shape future programs to benefit our farming communities. We have shared this information with state and federal decision makers as requested, as well as members of our farming community.

Through our program, we supported legal, tax, financial and mental services for farmers. We also developed four farmer-to-farmer peer support networks, with two of these being a NH Queer Farmer and a NH BIPOC Farmer communities.

We are excited to share our program format, our successes and the many lessons learned along the way.

The original grant funding is over, yet the work truly needs to continue! This is a major risk area as many of us know too well.
