The purpose of this presentation is to make property owners aware of significant property laws (local, state and federal) dealing with basic rights and obligations. More specifically the presentation will” • provide a basic understanding as to what rights a landowner has in the use of real property; • explain what duties a landowner has toward neighbors, strangers, and government; • enumerate government rights that are superior to, or supersede, those of the landowner; and • serve as a reference guide for finding laws that are of interest to your situation.
