Summary

Agricultural operators face a changing program environment with the likely elimination of direct commodity payments (DCPs). DCPs are fixed monetary compensations given annually to producers on a per acre basis as designated in the 2008 Farm Bill. Congress has been working toward the development of new agricultural policy legislation.
