This session focuses on highlighting an extremely successful hybrid online/in-person format series of meetings that taught principles of farm financial management to nearly 700 participants across Kansas and how this model could be replicated in other states. Keys to success included a dedicated network of extension educators across 32 local host sites, serving as trained facilitators to conduct hands-on activities and lead local discussions. Over 87% of participants stated they plan to develop a balance sheet for their farm business every year, over 75% stated they would develop an income statement and cash flow statement every year, and 63% plan to make a family living budget. The innovative format allowed education to reach many areas of the state simultaneously while providing an intimate and comfortable setting for participants to learn and ask questions.
