Summary

Annie’s Project has helped women in agriculture find their voice and agency on their agricultural operations, strengthen relationships, feel empowered to become better business operators and owners, seek additional education, increase their satisfaction with their agricultural operation role and/or lifestyle, and contribute to their rural communities. Annie’s Project uses a methodology that builds confidence, develops networks, and creates lifelong learners among women farmers, ranchers, and growers. In this session, find out what the methodology, or our “secret sauce”, is all about with Annie’s Project. We will share lessons that we have learned from thousands of Annie’s Project Participants. These insights will come from both quantitative and qualitative data that has been compiled over the last twenty-one years. These impacts demonstrate the effectiveness of Annie’s Project in meeting the educational needs of women in agriculture, along with substantiating the need for assisting women in all stages of their agricultural identities so they can be an equitable partner, operator, grower, rancher, or farmer in their agricultural operations. As we move forward, the need for educational programs for women in agriculture will continue to be in high demand. The methodology of Annie’s Project has helped agricultural women learn and thrive in a complex business, by remaining economically viable, enhancing conservation of their operations, improving gender equity, and sustaining generational farming.
