Summary
The River Country Grazing Initiative was started myself and my RC&D coordinator (Pam Herdrich)with the support of our council. This program´s primary goal was to bring high quality managed intensive grazing education and technical assistance to livestock farmers in a 12 county area in western wisconsin. That was 7 years ago, today the program has grown to have a grazing specialist and a grazing technician and we (while operating only on soft grant dollars) have been able to host over 14 classroom style meetings, over 60 pasture walks, 30 grass series walks, written over 160 managed grazing plans, and provided on farm technical assistance to over 500 farmers. and much much more!!
