Avoiding Discrimination: Mental or Physical Disabilities on the Farm - State Specific Information
This is a two-pager that summarizes the information on disability discrimination on farms, and adds the additional content of state-specific information. State specifics are required because federally, businesses aren't subject to enforcement on disability rules unless they have 15 or more employees. However, many states have much lower thresholds. Whereas a legally resilient business would comply with the law regardless of the threat of enforcement, it is helpful for farm businesses to understand how many employees it takes in their state to potentially be subject to discrimination laws. On our website, this information is in our Selected Essentials Employment Law material. We created this resource to share with folks who don't have access to our website material behind our paywall.
