Summary
This Fact sheet is designed to inform property owners of their rights and responsibilities in terms of their duty to fence. It discusses such areas as the property owner´s responsibility to fence when s/he has livestock; the rights of adjoining landowners to fence and where they may place their fences, encroachments, boundary lines, easements, contracts, nuisances; and the landowner´s responsibilities towards persons entering upon their property.
