Summary

Local food systems have been on the rise during the past decade. Organizations known as “food hubs” actively manage the aggregation, distribution, and marketing of source-identified food products. Community supported agriculture (CSA) programs, in which a group of consumers commit to share the risks and benefits of food production with a grower, have become commonplace.
