Vera Bitsch and Nicole J Olynk ( 2007 )

Summary

U.S. farmers are spending an increasing share of their expenses on hired labor. Managing labor is therefore becoming more important for farm operations' success. This study provides empirical evidence of how agricultural labor management differs from labor management in other industries by targeting the pork industry with its growing farm sizes and labor specialization.
