Summary
This is the first session. The educational material continues a welcome to bilingual peer facilitators and introduces Cross Over Community Development. The session also includes information on training individuals, including those with low literacy or who do not speak English as a first language. The presentation contains information related to barriers to learning and ways to motivate and encourage adult learners. The session also includes learning objectives and introduces risk management concepts that will be covered in upcoming sessions. The session also includes information on USDA. The Project Director Emily Holmes and Co-Project Director Catherine Bitwayiki were part of the development of the session. Emily Holmes presented the material in a face-to-face session. The information is also published through the Articulate Software and persons in attendance received a hard copy of the materials. The materials include images and simpler wording that will be used with further training of persons with lower English literacy levels.
