Conference Name Effective Design and Delivery of Climate-Related Extension Programs

David Ripplinger

Summary

While the topic of climate can be divisive, the issue is of critical importance to agriculture and is rapidly producing new educational needs. From 2021 to the present, more than three dozen talks on climate, carbon, and agriculture have been delivered by North Dakota Extension Agribusiness to more than one thousand farmers and others involved in agriculture across the Upper Midwest. The program achieved its goal of increasing the understanding of farmers, ranchers, and others about climate science, policy, and market conditions while staying true to Extension's mission of providing unbiased, science-based education. In this presentation, attendees will learn tips and techniques to design and deliver effective climate-related programs to diverse audiences that align with Extension's existing models and best practices.
