Evaluation Report for University of Minnesota Extension Business Entity Workshops

Summary

One pivotal decision every operation must make is picking a business structure. A well-researched decision can shield a producer from some degree of legal and financial risk.

In recent years, more limited liability companies and s-corporations have been forming in Minnesota. Through ERME funding received in 2019, the University of Minnesota Extension has delivered a business entity workshop titled, "Does Your Farm Have the Right Business Entity to Succeed?"  

The primary objective of these workshops was to enhance the producer's understanding of the various business entities and the repercussions of each option. These workshops were delivered virtually and face-to-face.  

This presentation will summarize the project, including evaluation data from workshop participants.
