There are various food safety systems that are mandated by state and federal laws to improve food safety and reduce risk to consumers. Food producers are expected to do a risk assessment and traceability to be in compliance with the Food Safety Modernization Act. There is a very powerful tool to help food producers meet these requirements known as Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs). This presentation will present information to producers to bring them up to speed on GAPs, FSMA and tools to to help implement food safety programs.
