Native Women in Agriculture: Challenges and Opportunities

Summary
Session presenters will discuss formation and early activities of the new Native Women in Agriculture organization. Presenters will provide background on Native Women who are involved in existing agricultural operations or who are interested in or launching new farming and ranching enterprises. Land use, natural resource and organizational challenges facing Native Women as producers will be highlighted as will the NWIA´s highly successful Native Youth activities shaping leadership for agriculture in Indian Country. Question and answer session will provide guidance to those providing extension programming to Native populations.
