We know most small farmers lack confidence when it comes to pricing their products, typically following a mix of what their peers are doing, perceived customer value, and costs. However, training solely based on record keeping and cost of production does not result in widespread adoption. In this session, we discuss Cornell’s new Grocery Store and Farmers Market price reports and tools to assist farmers. We’ll cover our approach to farmer education including the concept of supporting price with marketing effort.
