The Agricultural Finance, Tax and Asset Protection (AgFTAP) web portal serves as a centralized educational resource designed to enhance agricultural producers’ financial literacy, tax proficiency, and risk management capabilities. AgFTAP provides a comprehensive repository of targeted trainings, tools, and reference materials that empower farmers and ranchers to make informed business decisions related to tax compliance, asset protection, and strategic planning within the farm business context. The portal’s mission is to facilitate producer understanding of complex farm business tax issues—including accurate tax return preparation, implications of USDA program payments, and effective business entity and estate planning—while supporting enhanced management of future liabilities and financial risk.
A core educational strategy of the program is its certificate courses and workshop offerings, which cover essential topics such as risk management fundamentals, agricultural finance, crop insurance basics, and practical business planning strategies.
