Veteran farmers need planning, communication and administration tools to better manage their agricultural projects. The project “The outreach and assistance for socially disadvantaged farmers and ranchers, and veterans farmers and ranchers” proposed to provide market skills and education in agricultural economics. Among the objectives of the project were: (1) Promote skills in the use of computers for farm management; (2) Educate about best administrative practices and develop administrative performance. The project proposed two groups one in Camuy and another in Gurabo Puerto Rico. To achieve the objectives, participants received 36 hours of workshop on the following topics: Business Plan, Sources of Information for the Business Plan, Basic Farm Records, Marketing Plan, Introduction to Marketing, Cash Flow and Income Statement, Financing, Inventory, and Financial Score Card: Estimating Financial Ratios. A questionnaire was design to measure if participants’ knowledge changed after the workshops. The poster presentation includes the results of the pre and post tests to provide evidence that there was a change in knowledge among groups after the agribusiness management courses.
