Conference Name Using Effective Adult Education to Improve Skill Building in Farm Management Education

Seth Wilner

Summary

Lecture-based presentations are common delivery methods across the farm management world. Yet evaluation data shows they are ineffective at building participants' skills.

Thus, participants infrequently gain the ability to implement the information on their farms and ranches.

Often, educators have subject matter expertise, but limited expertise in effective adult education methods and theory.

Participants will leave this session with an understanding of some key adult education principles and effective teaching methods. More so, they will learn about resources to improve their programs and learn from each other.

Come prepared to share and co-learn!
