Summary

FairRent is a tool to help producers and landlords evaluate alternative rental arrangements. The web version of FairRent was developed with funding from the North Central Risk Management Education Center. It is free to use and has several features that were not available in the desktop version that CFFM has distributed for over 20 years. In addition to evaluating traditional cash and share lease arrangement, the new version includes the option to evaluate the seven different flex lease arrangements that are described on the North Central Farm Management Extension Committee´s AgLease101.org site. It also includes crop insurance to evaluate how insurance impacts downside risk. Since its release in August, over 2000 individuals have registered to use FairRent and almost 3000 rental plans have been completed.
