Open in new window Crop Insurance and the Supplemental Coverage Option

Ben Brown ( October, 2019 )

Summary

This presentation covers the history of the Federal Crop Insurance Program along with basic terminology and changes in Enterprise Units outlined in the 2018 Farm Bill. The presentation outlines historical payments and research mandates for future insurance products. New in the 2014 Farm Bill was the Supplemental Coverage Option for producers who enrolled in Price Loss Coverage. Due to the low enrollment in PLC- the Supplemental Coverage Option is still mostly unknown to Ohio producers.
