Cost of Production and Enterprise Profitability Analysis Tools: Engaging Producers and Service Providers

Summary
The Center for Integrated Agricultural Systems at the University of Wisconsin has an expanding library of spreadsheet-based, farm financial planning and enterprise analysis tools. We call them "Compass Tools" because they are designed to help "point the way to profitability." They are free to download and use. We have tried various strategies to teach both producers and service providers to use these tools. Tracking engagement and the impact of these tools has been challenging. This session will feature brief explanations of the various tools and their features as well as how these tools have been received and used by producers and service providers over time and a discussion of strategies to enhance their impact.
