The rise in new and beginning female farmers and forest landowners in the 5th and 6th districts in South Carolina has caused United Farmers USA to include special educational sessions geared to helping the female farmers and forest landowners knowledgeable of some of the hazards on a farm and offer suggestions to keep their farms safe. Over the past two years since including farm safety for female farmers a total of 20 women have taken the educational training that has taught them how to create an emergency farm safety plan, using a first aid kit to treat some farm injuries, and the correct way to operate and maintain farm equipment. Three of these females have developed an emergency farm safety plan to use on their farms and all twenty have incorporated a first aid kit to treat minor injuries.
