Summary

Renewing the Countryside has collected 150 stories of Risk Managment through diversification on farms throughout the United States. This session will:
- highlight ways innovative farmers are diversifying their enterprises ranging from agritourism to value-added products to innovative marketing initiatives;
- explore online tools that Renewing the Countryside has developed to help farmers link to resources and information to help them diversify their enterprises;
- provide information for helping farmers use the media to build their businesses;
- provide strategies that agricultural professionals can use to help build awareness and support for local agricultural efforts.

Renewing the Countryside is a Minnesota-based non-profit organization that works to support rural renewal throughout the US.
