Incorporating Emergency Preparedness into Programming

Summary
Emergency preparedness and safety are two program topics that can be hard to get an audience excited about or willing to attend. That is until something has happened and the topics hit a little too close to home. Area Agribusiness Agents Bethany Funkhouser and Charlotte Maxwell have found ways to both incorporate emergency preparedness and safety into existing programs and create standalone programs. During the 30 minute session, Charlotte will walk participants through programs like hurricane preparedness workshops, farm safety days, CPR trainings, and resources that have reached not only farmers but first responders as well. Participants walk away from each workshop reporting that they feel more confident in their ability to respond in an emergency.
