It´s Never too Early to Start Risk Management Education: Native Youth Get It!

Summary

Entering the third successful year of conducting the Native Youth in Food and Agriculture Summer Leadership Summit, our team has followed over 150 Native youth and can share stories of what we suspected all along. You can never start to early in educating on agriculture risk identification, management, strategies for success, and improvement of your operation. This session will discuss our findings from this dynamic and growing segment of young and beginning farmers and ranchers and share evaluation comments from Native youth who are focusing more intently on managing their risk. We will also share our curriculum and module approach and discuss what´ve learned about what works and what doesn´t with this young audience.
