Summary
The Farm and Resource Management Spreadsheet (FARMS) was developed by OSU Extension personnel to help producers overcome the risks of farm transition and estate planning. This software collects information important to farm transition and uses it to help design a viable farm transition plan. It allows producers to be better prepared and efficient when meeting with their attorneys and it helps to develop an accurate net worth for producers. Farm transition planning is a legal priority for many farm families throughout the country. FARMS can help convert this priority into a plan. This presentation will share an overview of FARMS and how professionals can gain access to the spreadsheet. It will also share the current progress of a grant received from the North Central Extension Risk Management Education Center.
