Will They Come Home? Will Everyone Be Happy?

Summary
A successful transition with the next generation coming home to farm requires some deliberate planning to develop a vision for your farm.
This session will lead the participants through a series of discussion points that can be used to help establish how the farm will continue, transfer expectations, how farm decisions will be made, security for both generations, and relationships with non-farming children.
Questions to think about will include the reality of generational differences, when women are running the farm, the role of spouses, handling the way business is done and living with new management styles.
This presentation will be helpful for participants working on a transfer plan and also for educators who will be teaching farm families about transferring their farms to the next generation.
